Meet Your Doula, Deb

Supporting mothers with compassion, experience, and grace.

I'm Deb, the doula behind Graceful Birth Care Birth Doula Services.

Long before becoming a doula, I understood the importance of supporting mothers because I had experienced motherhood myself. Today, as both a mother and grandmother, I've had the privilege of watching motherhood unfold across generations.

Those experiences have given me a deep appreciation for just how significant birth is.

Every mother is different. Every baby is different. And every birth story is different. That's why I believe good doula care begins with listening.

Training & Education

I believe compassionate care should be accompanied by thoughtful education and continued learning.

My training includes:

  • Birth doula training through DONA International

    • Currently pursuing DONA International Birth Doula Certification

  • Certification in Lactation Basics for Doulas through DONA International

  • Body Ready Method coursework

  • Spinning Babies coursework

  • Member of Christian Doulas of Michigan

Why Graceful Birth Care

I was drawn to doula work because I wanted to provide women with the kind of steady, compassionate support that can be so meaningful during labor and birth.

My approach is especially centered around comfort care and birth coaching. I help mothers explore different labor positions, movement, relaxation and comfort techniques while also providing the emotional encouragement that can be just as important during labor.

I don't believe my role is to take over your birth experience.

I'm there to walk beside you.

To encourage you when labor becomes difficult. To help you find another position when something isn't working. To remind you of your strength when you're tired. To listen to what you need. And, when desired, to pray with you and bring the comfort of our shared Christian faith into the birth space.

A Calm Presence When You Need It Most

Birth doesn't always follow a perfect plan. That's one reason having steady support matters.

My hope is to enter your birth space with calmness, flexibility, encouragement, and grace, helping you feel supported through each stage of labor and whatever your birth journey may bring.

It would be an honor to be part of your beginning.
